Last updated: July 2026. This is a plain-language summary of how Chirplings handles data. It is not legal advice.
Chirplings accounts are created and controlled by adults โ a parent/guardian or a teacher. Children never create accounts and never log in. A child appears in the app only as a profile the adult sets up.
Only to provide the service: to run practice sessions, track progress, generate word and phoneme audio, and manage your subscription. We do not show ads, we do not sell data, and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking.
We use a small number of processors strictly to run the app: audio generation (ElevenLabs), optional text processing for phonics (Anthropic), and payments (Stripe). They process data only to perform their function.
Chirplings is designed so that the adult account holder provides any consent and controls all data about a child. We collect the minimum needed (first name + avatar + practice results). A parent can view, export, or delete a child's data at any time by contacting us or using the in-app controls.
When a teacher uses Chirplings, the teacher (and their school) act as the responsible party for student data and confirm they have the authority to add students. Student data is used only to provide reading practice and progress reporting to that teacher.
You can delete a learner (removing their profile) or your whole account at any time. To request export or deletion of your data, email hello@chirplings.com.
